In the first phase of the training, players and assistants learned how to determine the correct ball orientation in the ball holder to ensure that the ball lands in the same spot on the court with the highest possible accuracy.
Using the BashtoCalc app, they viewed a graph for each tested ball, which clearly showed which ball orientation provided the most precise results.
The session continued with individual consultations tailored to each player’s needs, covering topics such as releasing balls from high and very low ramp positions, different types of ball holders and head pointers, reaching the end of the court with soft balls by adjusting ramp angles, fine-tuning and repairing boccia ramps, boccia helmets, and more. Players and assistants also had the opportunity to try various boccia equipment on-site and expand their playing options.
In the final phase, the players played a standard match with coaching commentary from Mr. Bašták, gaining new insights into specific game situations.
The training lasted the entire day, and participants left satisfied and enriched — it was a successful event. We are already looking forward to the next one!
