My name is Ross MacNeil... „Rossgo” is my nickname. I am 29 years old and I live near Glasgow in Scotland. I was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy as a child.

When and how did you start playing boccia? Which club do you belong to?
I've only been playing Boccia for 2 years now and am using a ramp to propel the ball. I have been classified as BC3 in December 2019. I train at West of Scotland Boccia Club in Glasgow and really enjoy it.

What does boccia mean to you?
I love this sport because of its inclusivity, anyone can participate and compete at any level. And socially, it's great for meeting lots of new friends from all over the globe!

Do you take part of national tournaments only, or also on an international level? What achievements have you achieved?
I compete at regional level and I was using a BASHTO boccia ramp from the beginning, which was kindly lent to me by Scottish Disability Sport.
I was quite successful and slowly improved with match play, medalling in most tournaments. Scottish Disability Sport saw my potential and asked me to train with the Scottish developmental squad.

How does your sports equipment help you win?
My father just then decided to upgrade my ramp and bought an X-7000 ramp from Bashto. It is more stable than my previous ramp and therefore it is more accurate.

What are the best results you achieved so far in boccia?
I was invited to represent Scotland last December at the Boccia England Teams and Pairs 2019 event and I went to Nottingham to compete at that time with my brand new ramp. With the help of my great teammates and my new ramp, I was medalled with a Bronze medal in BC3 pairs category.

Congratulations on this nice result! What are your sporting and life goals for the future?
I'm back in training now after a short break and I have been selected for the Scotland Boccia Squad for 2020. Looking forward to it.

What message you would leave for the readers, your fans and people around you?
First of all, I have to thank my coaches Stephen McGuire, Peter McGuire, Michaela Riháčková and Jenny Nethery for their support, help and guidance. Also, I'd like to thank BASHTO SPORTS for an excellent ramp that can compete at a very high level!
